In 2014 Ruby left a successful career in oil trading logistics in Switzerland to return to New York City and pursue her lifelong passion for acting. It was a daunting leap, but one that continually fills her with excitement, motivation, and determination.
She dove immediately into the Summer Conservatory at Atlantic Acting School and continued training in Atlantic’s Evening Conservatory. That program culminated in 2015 with the performance of an original play, Amazing the Change by Danny Mitarotondo, at the Linda Gross Theater in New York City. At Atlantic, she had the pleasure of studying with many amazing teachers, including original Atlantic Theater Company member Scott Zigler, who honed her acting technique, expanded her work in classical and contemporary plays, and taught her to Be In The Moment! Since then she continues to enjoy and grow from classes with The Barrow Group, SITI Company, Karen Kohlhaas, and others.
Ruby’s love of performing, singing, and dancing has been alive since early childhood. At a young age she was featured in a couple episodes of Sesame Street. During high school she spent summers performing in summer stock musicals at the Saxtons River Playhouse in Vermont, and after college she performed in several community musicals both with Chelsea Opera in NYC and GAOS in Geneva, Switzerland.
This year Ruby had the pleasure of starring in Tyrik Washington’s short film Correlation, which premiered at the Middle Coast Film Festival this summer. The film also recently screened at the Rahway International Film Festival and Adirondack Film Festival.
Stay tuned for more news as Correlation should be released for streaming online soon.
Ruby lives in Queens, NYC, and is happy to travel wherever her work may take her!
